Day 1

Arrival in Tanzania

Steady mountain pace

Airport Pick-up & Hotel Transfer (Moshi)
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi.
Later in the day, you'll meet your professional mountain guide for a comprehensive climb briefing and equipment inspection. Any missing gear can be rented before the trek begins.

Day 2

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Forest Camp)

Elevation: 2,385 m → 2,780 mDistance: 6 kmHiking Time: 3–4 hours

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before continuing to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin your trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 3

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation: 2,780 m → 3,505 mDistance: 8 kmHiking Time: 5–6 hours

Leave the rainforest behind as you ascend into the heath and moorland zone. Enjoy spectacular views across the Shira Plateau before arriving at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 4

Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Elevation: 3,505 m → 3,850 mDistance: 7 kmHiking Time: 3–5 hours

Cross the scenic Shira Plateau while taking in magnificent views of Kibo Peak. This relatively gentle day provides excellent acclimatization before entering the alpine desert.

Day 5

Shira 2 Camp to Moir Hut (via Lava Tower)

Elevation: 3,850 m → 4,630 m → 4,200 mDistance: 14 kmHiking Time: 6–8 hours

Today's trek is an important acclimatization day as you gradually ascend through the alpine desert to Lava Tower (4,630 m), where you'll stop for lunch and enjoy spectacular views of Kilimanjaro's volcanic landscape. After spending time at higher altitude, descend slightly to Moir Hut (4,200 m), following the proven "climb high, sleep low" acclimatization principle.
Located on the quieter western side of the mountain, Moir Hut offers breathtaking scenery and excellent opportunities for optional short acclimatization hikes around the nearby Lent Hills.

Day 6

Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp

Elevation: 4,200 m → 4,020 mDistance: 12 kmHiking Time: 5–7 hours

Today's route leaves the main climbing trails as you enter the remote Northern Circuit. Trek across quiet mountain ridges with spectacular views over Kenya before reaching Buffalo Camp.

Day 7

Buffalo Camp to Third Cave Camp

Elevation: 4,020 m → 3,870 mDistance: 8 kmHiking Time: 4–6 hours

Traverse the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro while enjoying the solitude and dramatic scenery that make the Northern Circuit unique. Arrive at Third Cave Camp for another excellent acclimatization night.

Day 8

Third Cave Camp to School Hut

Ascend steadily to School Hut, your final base camp before the summit attempt. After an early dinner, rest and prepare for your midnight climb to Uhuru Peak.

Day 9

School Hut → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp

Begin your summit ascent shortly after midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the Roof of Africa, and celebrate your incredible achievement as the sun rises over the continent. Descend via Stella Point and Barafu Camp to Mweka Camp.

Day 10

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Elevation: 3,100 m → 1,640 mDistance: 10 kmHiking Time: 3–4 hours

Enjoy your final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificate. Afterward, transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and a well-deserved celebration.

Departure

Hotel Transfer to the Airport
After breakfast and according to your flight schedule, our driver will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for your onward flight.
